Overview
The Hardware & Multi-Media Unit is responsible for the management, maintenance, and technical support of ICT hardware and multimedia equipment across Plateau State University. The unit ensures that computers, audiovisual systems, networking equipment, and other technology resources remain functional, reliable, and available to support teaching, learning, administration, events, and university operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Support: Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers and ICT equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Preventive and corrective maintenance of ICT hardware and multimedia systems.
- Multimedia Services: Support for projectors, displays, sound systems, cameras, and other audiovisual equipment.
- Computer Laboratory Support: Maintenance and technical support for university computer laboratories.
- Equipment Installation: Setup and configuration of new ICT and multimedia equipment.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnosis and resolution of hardware and equipment-related problems.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Monitoring and maintaining records of ICT hardware and multimedia assets.
- Events & Presentation Support: Providing technical assistance for conferences, lectures, meetings, and university events.
