John Samari Shaibu

John Samari Shaibu is a Network Engineer II at the ICT Directorate, Plateau State University, Bokkos, with three years of professional experience in networking and ICT infrastructure. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from the prestigious University of Jos and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), having obtained his certification through the University of Jos Cisco Academy. He is also a professional member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
Prior to his current professional role, John volunteered with the Network and Internet Services Department, ICT Directorate, University of Jos, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in network operations, internet connectivity, infrastructure deployment, and technical support. His professional expertise includes network design and implementation, wireless networking, internet connectivity, network infrastructure deployment, and troubleshooting.
Among his notable projects is the design and implementation of a Campus Area Network (CAN) at Plateau State University, Bokkos, in 2025. He has also participated in the design and implementation of an E-Library at St. Paul's Academy, Jos, as well as the installation of Starlink and deployment of Internet Networks at Bethany Christian Academy, Barkin Ladi; Gindiri Theological Seminary; College of Health Sciences, Lamingo Campus (JUTH), University of Jos; College of Nursing and Midwifery, Jalingo, Taraba State; and the Benue State INEC State Secretariat Office.
These projects demonstrate his practical expertise in network design, Starlink installation, internet deployment, network infrastructure development, troubleshooting, and maintenance across educational, healthcare, and government environments.
As a Network Engineer, John's professional ambition is to develop advanced expertise in network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud networking, and emerging technologies. He aims to design and manage secure, reliable, and scalable networks while continuously expanding his professional knowledge and contributing meaningfully to digital transformation and improved ICT services.
